Experience

I started out on the staff of a Minecraft server, and I have been building sites for clients since 2022.

Most of what I have picked up along the way is the part that comes after the code: getting sites deployed, keeping servers up, and fixing things once real people are using them.

What I look after at the agency

Sites, clients and servers I’ve worked on and managed at Perfect Afternoon, counting production, staging and development sites.

260+active websites
100+active clients
10+servers

    Lead Developer

    Perfect Afternoon

Since March 2026 I have led development at Perfect Afternoon, with a focus on efficiency: taking manual work off the team, raising margins and improving how the agency delivers, from the development side. The biggest piece so far is PANoodle, the AI operations platform I invented and built. I still build and look after client WordPress sites.

    WordPress Developer

    Perfect Afternoon

I built WordPress sites for agency clients: WooCommerce stores, corporate sites and franchise location pages. I took a project from scoping through development, QA and launch, including DNS and SSL, then kept it running after launch with performance work and security hardening. The agency looks after 260+ active websites for 100+ clients on 10+ servers.

    Founder

    Gamache Technology Solutions

Independent consulting and development. The main project so far is SJD Taxi (sjdtaxi.com). I took over a replacement booking plugin an outside team had started in 2022 and left unfinished, split it into a central booking hub and plugins that install on any site, merged and refactored the HubSpot sync, and added Stripe checkout in five currencies. It now takes the bookings on four sites. The booking rebuild was split between Gamache Technology Solutions and my work at Perfect Afternoon. I co-founded CatalogXpert in March 2026 as a venture between JDW Ventures and Gamache Technology Solutions. It hosts AI sales assistants that stores selling technical products can add to their sites with one script tag. I wrote the original demo and the first sales engine, and the specs the platform was built from.

    Moderator, then Administrator

    The Outpost

I started on The Outpost, a Minecraft Java Edition server, as a player and became a moderator in September 2019. After a few months away experimenting as a developer, I came back as an administrator by March 2020, while the owner had stepped back, and by May 2020 I was on a seven-person admin team. With the other admins I looked after the player base, uptime, revenue and a staff of up to about 20, including hiring and firing. The server was a net-positive business while we managed it. About 10,000 players came through it over the years, and its Discord had more than 2,000 members. I also wrote Java plugins for it, including a bounty system and event leaderboards.

The work I like best

The work I like best spans more than one layer of the system. Writing the code is one part of that. I’m also interested in how it gets deployed and whether it holds up once real people are using it.

That means full-stack development, infrastructure and applied machine learning, and more and more the places where they meet, as long as the work makes me understand how the whole thing fits together.
